Welcome to Northern GT Racing
The only team on the grid fuelled by Yorkshire tea, pasties, real ale and sheer bloody-mindedness.
We don’t do telemetry, we do intuition (well, sometimes). Our pit strategy involves crisps, beer, banter, and hoping for the best. If you’ve stumbled here after spotting our livery in iRacing, congratulations — you’ve found the spiritual home of questionable overtakes, failed attempts, heroic pub stories, and the finest virtual flat caps this side of Donington!
At Northern GT Racing, we believe motorsport should be equal parts skill, chaos, and good humour. We race with the precision of a man balancing a pint on a bar mat and the confidence of someone who definitely didn’t forget to brake for Turn 1.
Our guiding principles are simple:
Flat caps on, always. Aerodynamics be damned — style comes first.
Beer is not a performance enhancer, but it is a morale enhancer.
If in doubt, send it. Preferably with grace, but we’ll settle for enthusiasm.
Telemetry is optional; vibes are mandatory.
Respect your rivals, unless they divebomb you — then it’s personal.
Every race is followed by a debrief in the pub, where the truth becomes optional and the heroics become legendary.
We don’t chase perfection — we chase fun, good company, and the occasional podium if the stars align.
Northern GT isn’t just a team. It’s a state of mind: part Yorkshire grit, part Lancashire charm, and entirely powered by the belief that racing is better when you’re laughing.
The Northern GT Mercedes packs a punch. It runs on real ale and has a special drawer full of chips.
The livery was designed by award-winning Burnley designer Hattie Hollersworth, who has christened the style as 'Antwacky chic'.
The interior is a gentle blend of Yorkshire tweeds and Lancashire hotpot.
Hattie insists there is northern soul in every line, but she has been known to exaggerate when she has had a drink.
